“A Funny Thing Happened
on the Way to the Forum”
Book by Burt Shevelove & Larry Gelbart, Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
The wily slave Pseudolus has but one wish: to obtain his freedom. When he learns that his master has fallen for the girl next door, he strikes a deal: he’ll be freed if he can procure the girl, who’s already betrothed to a Roman captain. Selected by audience vote, this musical has puns, satire, slamming doors, mistaken identities and a Sondheim score.
