FAQs

All Racine Theatre Guild and Racine Children’s Theatre classes are held at Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine, WI. Most class sessions begin in the green room and transition onto the stage as the final class performance approaches. Depending on weather, class breaks or activities may take place outdoors as well.

For the purposes of community building and collaboration, it’s best for all students to have regular attendance in class. Absences do affect everyone involved as theater is a team sport. If your child does have to miss a class due to illness or unavoidable conflict, please contact classes@racinetheatre.org or the class instructor directly.

Students focus better and participate more fully when family members are not in the room. If your student is nervous about class, you can reassure them by remaining in the building. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend the final class, sharing, showcase, or performance. If your student requires an aide to participate in class, please contact classes@racinetheatre.org to explore options.

Students should wear comfortable clothing that they can move in. Gym shoes or dance, closed-toed shoes are the preferred footwear.

Every program will have a supply list. Common items are a labeled water bottle, a folder or binder for music sheets/scripts, a pencil, and snacks.

Students should be the ages required for the class by the first day of the course. No acting, singing, or dancing experience is necessary! We do ask that all students be potty trained.

For week long and classes during the school year, the short presentation does not require additional tickets. Our class-to-stage productions are offered to the general public under our Racine Children’s Theatre umbrella to attend as well and tickets are required. Students’ friends and family will have the initial opportunity to purchase tickets with a form sent home via the first class and then they will be available to the public.

Yes! More information about Financial Assistance is listed below. If you have any questions, contact classes@racinetheatre.org or call the Box Office at (262) 633-4218.

FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION

Many families are facing financial hardships and need help providing their children with access to the performing arts where they can build creativity, self-confidence, and teamwork skills through acting, dancing, and singing. The Racine Theatre Guild and Racine Children’s Theatre want to support our community through theatre classes by providing financial aid to students.

We ask that you do not look at our Financial Aid Scholarship Application as a way to get a “discount” and save money. We invite you to view it as a needs-based scholarship. While applications will be accepted regardless of financial circumstance, completing a form does not guarantee a scholarship award. Forms must be turned in at least 10 days prior to the start of a class and will be processed and evaluated in order they are received.

Please note: If applying for Financial Aid, you do not need to complete a separate registration form.
