Acting Classes for Kids & Adults

 

 Summer 2015 Theatre Classes

for ages 3-18

 

Please note:

  • Asterisk (*) indicates that a $10 discount per session applies to households registering for 2 or more qualifying sessions.
  • Do not wait until the last minute to register for a class. If minimum enrollment isn’t met a week before the start date, a class may be cancelled.
  • Down payment of 50% is non-refundable, unless class is cancelled.

 

Creative Kids (ages 3-4) – $55/6-week session

Mondays, June 22-July 27, 4:15-5 p.m.

Creative movement plays an integral role in a child’s development. This class provides an opportunity for the youngest artists to explore the space around them through rhythm and expression. It’s playtime with a purpose; fun set to music.

Creative Kid Adventures (age 5) - $50/session, $95/2 sessions

These mini-camps offer imaginary expeditions filled with creative movement, stories and crafts.

Session 1: Fairy Tale Magic, June 29-July 1, 10-11:30 a.m.

Create fairy-tale lands where villains  are thwarted by happily-ever-after endings.

Session 2: Under the Sea, July 13-15, 10-11:30 a.m.

Meet underwater animals, pirates and friendly sea creatures as we journey beneath the waves!

 

Fairy Tale Players (ages 6-8) - $100*

Learn the basics of theatre through rehearsing and performing a favorite fairy tale.

Session 1: June 22-26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Session 2: July 6-10, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

 

Broadway Bound (ages 6-8, 14-18) – $100*

Learn the skills of a “triple threat.”  Each class will focus on the performance techniques used in musical theatre—singing, dancing and acting.

Junior (ages 6-8): August 3-7, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Senior (ages 14-18): August 17-21, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Dr. Seuss Dramatics (ages 8-10) – $100*

July 6-10, 1-4 p.m.

Reading and performing go hand-in-hand as we venture into the fantasy worlds of Dr. Seuss and bring his colorful characters to life upon the stage!

RTG Kids Kamp (ages 8-13) - $165*

Join us for summertime fun at the theatre. Get instruction in acting, vocal and dance techniques. Play theatre games and make costumes. Then, be ready to perform a mini-musical!

Session 1: Mondays-Thursdays, July 20-30, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Session 2: Mondays-Thursdays, August 3-13, 1-4 p.m.

 

Never Fear, It’s Shakespeare! (ages 10-13, 14-18) – $100*

From page to stage, the work of William Shakespeare comes alive! Enjoy the poetry and characters of Shakespeare, viewed from a young person’s perspective.

Junior (ages 10-13): July 27-31, 1-4 p.m.

Senior (ages 14-18): August 10-14, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Curtain Up! (ages 13-18) – $100*

July 20-24, 1-4 p.m.

Experiment with movement, vocalization, character development, improvisation and ensemble building to create characters and stage presence that are unforgettable. Through workshop exercises, begin to develop acting abilities needed to create truthful characters, whether they are in the ensemble or starring in the show.
