Acting Classes for Kids
RTG Summer 2014 Theatre Classes
for Ages 3-18
- Asterisk (*) indicates that a $10 discount per session applies to households registering for 2 or more qualifying sessions.
- Do not wait until the last minute to register for a class. If minimum enrollment isn’t met a week before the start date, a class may be cancelled.
Creative Kids (ages 3-4) – $40
Fridays, July 11-August 1, 10-10:45 a.m.
Creative movement plays an integral role in a child’s development. This class provides an opportunity for the youngest artists to explore the space around them through rhythm and expression. It’s playtime with a purpose; fun set to music.

Creative Kid Adventures (age 5) - $40.00/session
These mini-camps offer imaginary expeditions filled with creative movement, stories and crafts. Instructor: Kara Ernst
Session 1: June 30-July 2, 10-11 a.m.
Under the Sea: Get ready to meet underwater animals and friendly sea creatures as we journey beneath the waves!
Session 2: July 7-9, 10-11 a.m.
On Safari: Loveable lions, mischievous monkeys and other jungle animals await as we take a musical trip to Africa!
Fairy Tale Players (ages 6-8) $100*
August 11-15, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Learn basic theatre skills through rehearsing and performing a favorite fairy tale. Instructor: Kate Kowbel
Broadway Bound (ages 6-8, 9-12, 13-17) $100/session*
Junior (ages 6-8): June 23-27, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Instructor: Briana Lipor
Intermediate (ages 9-12): August 4-8, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Instructor: Briana Lipor
Senior (ages 13-17): July 7-11, 1-4 p.m. Instructor: Kara Ernst
Learn the skills of a “triple threat.” Each class will focus on the performance techniques used in musical theatre performance—singing, dancing and acting.
RTG Kids Kamp (ages 8-13) $165*
Mondays-Thursdays, July 21-31, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Join us for summertime fun at the theatre. Get instruction in acting, vocal and dance techniques. Play theatre games and make costumes! Then, be ready to perform a mini-musical! Instructor: Kara Ernst
Players and Playwrights (ages 10-14) $100*
June 23-27, 1-4 p.m.
Creativity is cultivated when you get training not only in writing scripts, but also in performing them. Language arts are enhanced along with acting abilities as you bring your own works to life on the stage! Instructor: Kara Ernst
Never Fear, It’s Shakespeare! (ages 10-14) $100*
July 28-August 1, 1-4 p.m.
From page to stage, the work of William Shakespeare comes alive! Sample the poetry and characters of Shakespeare’s world from a kid’s eye view. Instructor: Kara Ernst
Curtain Up! (ages 13-18) $60
August 4-6, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Experiment with movement, vocalization, character development, improvisation and ensemble building to create characters and stage presence that are unforgettable. Through workshop exercises, begin to develop acting skills needed to create truthful characters, whether they are in the ensemble or starring in the show. Instructor: Kate Kowbel
