KARA ERNST- SCHALK ​is a professional performer, director and educator that ​has participated in over 50 productions at the Racine Theatre Guild. She has directed​ and ​choreographed ​many of ​our shows​, including​: ​Peter and the Starcatcher, ​Little Shop of Horrors, The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Rocky Horror Show, I Do! I Do!, A Grand Night for Singing and Lucky Stiff. ​She has produced many Children’s Theatre productions including ​Peter Pan, Seussical, Jr., ​ Let Down Your Hair, Rapunzel and The Big Bad Musical. Kara holds her BFA in Musical Theatre (UW-Stevens Point). She received her acting training at The Lee Strasburg Theatre and Film Institute and her dance training at The Milwaukee Ballet Studio, DanceWorks and Broadway Dance Center.





ROBERT KROESmary-poppins-12-2016_0003 is an award winning teacher and performer from the Racine area. He holds his Bachelors of Music from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with degrees in vocal performance, choral and general music education.  Performance credits include: Les Miserables (Enjolras), Spamalot (Patsy), Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), Lend Me a Tenor (Max), A Night at the Nutcracker (Eddie), Mary Poppins (Bert), The Addams Family (Lucas), and Jekyll & Hyde (Jekyll/Hyde). Equally at home off stage, Robert has been directing since 2006. He has directed over 20 productions in the Racine area in the last eleven years, and is currently the director for the Union Grove theatre department.  Robert is extremely active at the Racine Theatre Guild where he is a theatre class instructor. He also is the director of the new RTG Signature Spotlight Concert Series. Robert taught in Racine Unified for six years where he served as vocal director for McKinley Middle School and was awarded the Encore Award in teaching. Additionally, he teaches private voice and piano in his home studio. Robert’s choral and theatrical groups compete across the nation and consistently rank high in performance.



KATE KOWBEL is theater instructor and director of Horlick Theatre Arts. She has directed  Almost, Maine for RTG and Pinocchio and The Tale of Peter Rabbit (and Benjamin Bunny) for RCT. She’s first became involved with the Guild in high school when she was cast in HONK! Since then she has participated in over 40 of our productions. 








KRISTIN ALTHOFF has had the privilege of working in the Milwaukee and Racine comedy community.  She is an improviser at Comedy Sportz in Milwaukee, an actor in the Milwaukee based show Dinner Detective, and a local actor that can be seen in productions at Racine Theater Guild and 6th Street Theater.  She has been trained at Second City and has been seen in both Milwaukee and Chicago Comedy Festivals in sketch and improv groups.  Kristin’s first became involved with RTG when she was cast as Milady in Three Musketeers. When she is not working for laughs on stage, she is working for Horlick High School’s math department as the department chair.
