Due to a scheduling conflict, John Moulder is unable to join Steve Million during their appearance at Jean’s Jazz on Saturday, March 24. Instead, Dave Onderdock will be adding his guitar skills to Million’s piano talent.

Million/Onderdock Jazz Duo

Steve Million is a professional jazz pianist, improviser, and composer. Although largely self-taught beginning with blues and boogie-woogie piano, he studied at the University of Missouri–Kansas
City and with John Elliot. A fixture on the Chicago jazz scene since 1988, he has recorded five CD’s: Million to One (1995), Thanks a Million (‘97), Truth Is (‘99), Poetic Necessities (‘03), and Remembering the Way Home (‘08).

Dave Onderdock began playing the guitar at the age of eight, with early interests in folk, blues, and rock music. He attended the University of Illinois’s classical guitar program and played in the Jazz Big Band under John Garvey. Onderdonk performed in concerts throughout Europe, Central and South America, and the United States and settled in Chicago. He has made appearances at various jazz clubs, including Andy’s, The Green Mill, and The Jazz Showcase and is a member of the Chicago Jazz Composers Collective.
